Brighton & Hove City Council and Brighton Youth Centre Skatepark team up to offer FREE skating sessions offered to 13-19 year olds to boost mood and confidence.

The Go Skate Project is a programme using skateboarding as a pathway to better mental wellbeing.

Due to run every Tuesday from 11th January – 5th April 2022, from 5.30 – 6.30pm at BYC Skatepark, each young person will be offered:

  • 12 free skateboarding sessions at BYC Indoor Skatepark each lasting one hour with two friendly, experienced and qualified skateboarding coaches and one wellbeing support worker at each session.

  • Skateboards, helmets and pads are all provided.

  • Free Brighton Youth Centre Live Lounge sessions each week.
Live Lounge is BYC’s Tuesday open drop-in youth club; an opportunity to relax with friends for an evening of food, films, football, skateboarding, arts, music, support, MC-ing, table tennis, pool and much more.

There are 10 spaces available for young people to learn basic skateboarding skills or work on improving their existing skills in a safe, fun and friendly environment just for them.
