One-to-one support, advice and advocacy for up to 7 hours per year

Assert offer extended work through support sessions with a Caseworker. The support sessions are spread over a maximum of 7 hours. They work together with people to break down either an aspiration they'd like to achieve, task that they need to complete or an issue they're experiencing that they might need some extra support, advice or advocacy with in order to achieve a goal.

Please note; that sadly they are unable to offer long term ongoing one-to-one support. If you require an advocacy service, please speak to the Autism Support Advisor who can signpost you to organisations that can help.

“Coming to Assert was something of a revelation. For the first time in my life I was given worthwhile support, and support that did not make me feel stupid, patronised” - Assert client

Fortnightly drop in coffee afternoon

These afternoons take place once a fortnight in Brighton and are a chance to get together and socialise.

Monthly 'Get Active' session

Get Active sessions offer an opportunity to get out and do some physical exercise. An Assert Caseworker will take part too and reassure people that they do not need to be mega fit or feel embarrassed. This is a good opportunity to have some fun and hopefully try something new. Sessions take place monthly and you must book onto this and have a place confirmed via email to attend.
