The Clare Project

About the service and what to expect

The Clare Project is a self-supporting transgender support and social group based in Brighton and Hove open to anyone wishing to explore issues around gender identity.

Tuesday drop-in

A weekly get-together for community members to socialise, find out more about services and receive support.

Attendees do not require any consultation prior to attendance, and can come as little or as often as they like.

The structure of this drop-in is informal, and set up as a non-structured social space, where you can also speak to facilitators in a group, or 1-2-1. It is free to come along, and you are welcome to bring a Personal Assistant or friend/family member for support.

TNB Brighton monthly support group

The TNB Brighton group meets once a month, on the third Thursday of every month, to take part in a facilitated activity, workshop, or discussion on a particular theme.

Half of the drop-in is structured around this topic for around 45minutes, with time either side for continuing discussion, or socializing. We often invite guest co-facilitators from the community or other specialist organisations.

It provides the community with a safe space to explore subjects and issues that may affect the trans community differently. Example topics include

  • Self-care
  • Volunteering opportunities
  • Healthy relationships
  • Fertility
  • Trans health pathways

You can participate in these activities however you wish, there is also space to hang out, or speak to one of the facilitators for informal advice and support.
