About the Service and what to expect:

Sussex Interpreting Services exists to enable full access, for people with language needs, to publicly funded services in order to improve health, education and overall quality of life.  Our lived experience team of linguists support people to overcome the barriers of language, culture, information and power.  We deliver interpreting, translation, social prescribing, health promotion, community engagement & research. 

SIS provides high quality, professional Community Interpreting, Community Translation and Bilingual Advocacy 24 hours a day, 7 days per week with exceptional customer service.

SIS helps to:

  • Bridge the communication gap of language, information, culture and power
  • Encourage client self referrals
  • Provide client centred services
  • Improve appropriate service delivery
  • Implement Equality of Opportunity
  • Ensure joined up services
