Over the last few weeks, the UOK team has been out in the Community across Brighton & Hove, joining forces with incredible local organisations to connect communities with accessible mental health and wellbeing support. From market stalls and festivals to training and community health days, it’s been a powerful reminder of what collaboration can look like and why it matters.
MSK Community Appointment Day at Brighton Racecourse

We were proud to be part of the MSK Community Appointment Day at Brighton Racecourse which an innovative, integrated day of health and wellbeing. The event cut down waiting times while bringing Wellbeing services directly to the people who need them, reducing barriers to access and offering dynamic, diverse support in one place.
It was a pleasure to stand alongside Together Co, Trust for Developing Communities (TDC) and other partners, meeting people face-to-face and helping them understand what mental health support is available and how to access it.

Refugee Week at Jubilee Library
As part of Refugee Week, UOK joined Trust for Developing Communities (TDC) at Jubilee Library to share the newly launched Refugee and Migrant Support Directory, a fantastic resource created in partnership with TDC, BERTS and HERA to improve signposting for people new to the city.

Neurodiversity Training with ADHD Aware

We were thrilled to host a partner training session on neurodiversity, delivered by the brilliant team at ADHD Aware. The session was full of valuable insights, lived experience, and actionable tools to help frontline workers better support neurodivergent clients.
“I left the session feeling more informed and more confident in how I can adapt my support to meet neurodivergent needs. It was practical, real, and made me rethink assumptions I didn’t know I had.”

Carers Festival at Brighton Open Market
UOK joined The Carers Centre for Brighton & Hove at their joyful Carers Festival at Brighton Open Market during Carers Week (10–16 June). We loved connecting with unpaid carers and sharing wellbeing support available to them, including Southdown’s Recovery College courses tailored specifically for carers.
Special thanks to Emma McDermott, our Head of Partnerships, for joining the day and amplifying the message that carers need and deserve, just as much care themselves.
With over 5.8 million unpaid carers in the UK, it’s vital we continue to honour, support and celebrate those who give so much.
Together Co’s 25th Anniversary Celebration
We were thrilled to join Together Co for their sunny 25th anniversary celebration, a joyful afternoon of community, conversation and, of course, ice cream! Between scoops and smiles, we celebrated the incredible work of Together Co in tackling loneliness and connecting people across Brighton & Hove.

This year also marks a meaningful step forward in partnership: the UOK Brighton & Hove Central Access Point which is now integrated into Together Co’s Connection Hub, their single point of access for information, support and referrals. This joined-up approach means individuals and professionals alike will find it easier to navigate local mental health and wellbeing services, making support more accessible, faster, and more human.
We’re proud to work alongside Together Co and look forward to building on our shared mission to support connection and wellbeing for all.
