Monthly TNBI Health Pop-up offers accessible healthcare and wellbeing support

A monthly health and wellbeing pop-up is available for trans, non-binary and intersex (TNBI) people living in Brighton and Hove.

The TNBI Health Pop-up brings together The Clare Project, Switchboard and a local NHS Primary Care team to make healthcare easier and safer to access. The team includes clinicians, social prescribers and community workers who understand that visiting a traditional GP surgery can sometimes feel stressful or unwelcoming.

The drop-in takes place on the last Tuesday of every month, from 2:30pm to 5pm, at The Clare Project Drop-in in Dorset Gardens Methodist Church, Brighton. No appointment is needed.

Support available

People can visit with a specific health concern or simply come in for an informal conversation over a cup of tea. Support includes:

  • TNBI-focused health checks and advice
  • Help with minor injuries or illnesses
  • Social prescribing support, including housing, money advice and connections to local wellbeing groups
  • Help understanding and navigating healthcare services
  • An opportunity to share experiences and help shape the future of the pop-up

The team aims to provide support without gatekeeping or unnecessary barriers. The service is co-produced with the TNBI community and will continue to develop in response to what local people say they need
