Our stories

Our stories feature people connected to UOK – including people who provide support, people who access support, and dedicated volunteers. By sharing their experiences, individuals not only tell their stories but also help create a kinder and more understanding society that talks openly about mental health.

“We have so many examples of people now feeling positive… there is huge support in TDC”

“At Brighton Women’s Centre the aim of our work is to ensure that women remain the experts in their own journeys… our support can help change lives”

A volunteering role led Kitty to develop skills and secure paid employment with MindOut.

“For me, the mental health benefits of spending time in nature are that I get a sense of something bigger than myself”

“Community projects like these are invaluable. They create a safe space for women from ethnically diverse communities”

“I would urge anyone to have the vaccination” – A Client’s experience

“Everyone’s grief and bereavement is different but what everyone is feeling is real”

“In this course we all just became one. That was wonderful”

“Support from Money Advice Plus was the biggest relief I felt in a long time. It has stopped me being homeless.”
